The Spanish National Team’s cyclist has given Spain a bronze that felt like a gold, after being involved in a marvellous comeback from 35th place to finally win the bronze medal. This feat gives him his own entry in the history of our sport, and makes him the holder of the 16th medal won by Spanish cycling at the Olympic Games.
MTB or mountain biking has given Spain many medals in previous Olympic Games. David Valero‘s bronze medal is the fourth, following those won by Marga Fullana, José Antonio Hermida and Carlos Coloma.
After stepping onto the podium and collecting that precious bronze medal, David Valero told the media that “it’s been a long road to the Olympic Games, with a lot of uncertainty because of the health situation. This medal is a dream that has come true today. My goal since Rio de Janeiro has been to make my mark at the Olympic Games, which is an objective for all athletes, and it’s the result of many years of hard work and sacrifice, and I feel today that the reward is enormous.”
Inverse has received numerous requests from cycling fans in Spain – and other countries – who would like to have the jersey and bib shorts used by the Spanish cycling team at the Tokyo 2021 Olympic Games. That’s why Inverse has decided to celebrate David Valero’s achievement by placing a special edition of the replica of the Spanish Olympic jersey and bib shorts on sale.
The sale of the limited edition of the Spanish jersey and bib shorts for the Tokyo 2021 Olympics ends on 31 August, and orders will ship from the second week of September onwards.
